MI has the great pleasure to raffle the book: Development, Human Rights and the Rule of Law (Report of a Conference held in The Hague on 27 April - 1 May 1981), convened by the International Commission of Jurists.

About the book : In recent years there has been increasing awareness that development policies which do not take into account the need for greater social justice will not achieve their goals.

This awareness was the cornerstone of a unique conference bringing together experts in both development and human rights, and convened by the International Commission of Jurists.

It is the Commission`s belief that the important relationship between the Rule of Law and Development deserves wider recognition and study their hope is that the working papers and proceedings of the conference will further such a cause.

About ICJ : The International Commission Of Jurists provides legal expertise at both the international and national levels to ensure that developments in international law adhere to human rights principles and that international standards are implemented at the national level.

The Commission was founded in Berlin in 1952 and its membership is composed of sixty eminent jurists who are representatives of the different legal systems of the world.
