Man remanded for stealing police teddy bear
A man has been charged and remanded for stealing a police teddy bear just moments after he was released on bail for other theft charges.
Police initially arrested the man about 6pm after he alleged stole food from a Caulfield shopping centre.
The 36-year-old was taken to the Caulfield police station where he was charged with theft and bailed to appear at the Frankston Magistrates' Court on June 20.
He was released from the police station about 7.25pm when police observed him stealing a Constable T. Bear from the reception counter.
The man was arrested and charged with theft of the bear.
Frankston man Damian Surman faced an out-of -session’s court hearing this evening where he was remanded in custody to appear at the Moorabbin Justice Centre tomorrow.
