Corruption trial
US court sets May date for DiMasi trial
A tentative spring date has been set for the federal corruption trial of former House speaker Salvatore F. DiMasi.
US District Court Judge Mark Wolf yesterday told lawyers to prepare for trial "on or about May 2'' in case the judge rejects the defendants' motions to dismiss the case.
Earlier this week, Wolf set Jan. 26-28 for hearings on those motions, filed by DiMasi and three codefendants.
DiMasi is accused of pocketing $57,000 from a Burlington software firm that was seeking multimillion-dollar state contracts.
